New Doris Day Paper Doll Features Legendary Star as Fashion Icon
Kingfield, Maine - For more than four decades, Doris Day reigned as a shining star of Hollywood movies and records. She also became a fashion icon when she was transformed from the girl next door into a glamorous fashion plate as she starred in a string of popular comedies in the 1960s. And now her fashionable flair has inspired a new paper doll book scheduled to be released late December 2010.
Paper Studio Press will publish the paper doll book celebrating the star's stellar style. With artwork by David Wolfe who collaborated with Pierre Patrick (author and authority on Doris Day), the book features eight pages of outfits from such films as Pillow Talk, Lover Come Back, The Thrill of It All and Midnight Lace. Also included are costumes from her earlier hits including Calamity Jane, The Pajama Game and The Glass Bottom Boat. David, as well as being a popular paper doll artist, is also an internationally recognized fashion authority. He says, "Doris Day was such a superb singer and talented actress that it is sometimes overlooked she inspired women everywhere to copy her clothes, her hair, her sunny personality. This paper doll book is a tribute to her fashion impact."
A donation for each book supports the Doris Day Animal Foundation. Advance orders are now available from Paperdoll Review.
